As a business wishing to advertise open roles on the Jobs that Matter Hub (the “Hub”) (“you”), you must agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions (the “T&Cs”).

Introduction

The Jobs that Matter Hub is organised by Tech Zero and Octopus Energy (“we,” “us,” “our”). These T&Cs, along with any communications or instructions from us relating to the Hub, form the basis of your participation in the Hub.

These T&Cs are independent of any terms governing your energy supply relationship with Octopus Energy Limited or Octopus Energy Operations Limited (collectively, “Octopus Energy Supply”). Participation in the Hub does not alter or affect your rights and obligations under any existing energy supply agreement.

Participation

There is no entry fee to apply to join the Hub.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

To apply to participate in the Hub, a representative of your business authorised to enter contractual arrangements on your behalf must:

  • complete the required sign-up form, submit necessary business information [requested by us as part of the sign-up journey], and accept these T&Cs; and

  • be aged 18 or over;

  • be an executive decision-maker of a business headquartered in Great Britain (excluding Northern Ireland) with the power to enter into contracts on behalf of your business;

  • comply fully with these T&Cs at all times during the course of the Hub.

Tech Zero and Octopus Energy reserve the exclusive right to determine, modify, and apply selection criteria for inclusion in the Hub, and we may change these criteria at any time at our discretion.

Submission of an application to participate in the Hub does not guarantee that your business will be selected or included in any listings, advertisements, or promotional materials associated with the Hub. Tech Zero and Octopus Energy’s selection decisions are final and non-reviewable. In the event of any dispute regarding any aspect of the Hub, Octopus Energy’s decision will be final, binding, and not subject to review or appeal.

Hub activities

The Jobs that Matter Hub is a job board site tailored to help young people enter the workforce, and to increase the number of workers in areas that need them the most. Businesses who offer relevant and suitable opportunities, including jobs, internships, apprenticeships and/or training programmes, may apply to list their opportunities on the Hub.

Any eligible business can apply. After applying, Tech Zero will select a number of businesses based on eligibility criteria, the type of roles offered, industry type, and business impact. We will contact all applicants to inform them of whether or not they have been selected.

Applying does not guarantee your business listing(s) will be included on the Hub.

If your business is selected for the Hub, Tech Zero will feature your business on the Jobs that Matter website.

In order to best promote your business opportunities, you agree to provide your business’ logo and use of your logo for the duration of the listing being live on the Hub.

You warrant that our use of the logo shall not infringe on any third party’s rights (including intellectual property rights) and you shall reimburse us for any losses arising in relation to claims brought against us by a third party in relation to the use of your logo.

Removal from the Hub

Tech Zero and Octopus Energy reserve the right to remove you from the Hub at any time, including if at any point you cease to meet the eligibility requirements or breach any of the T&Cs.

You may request to be removed from the Hub at any time. It is your responsibility to inform us if the advertised role(s) have been filled or is no longer accepting applicants.

Grounds for Removal: We may remove you from the Hub under any of the following circumstances:

  • if you withdrawal of consent for us to use your job listing

  • the advertised role is filled or no longer taking applicants

  • if we find evidence of you undertaking unethical business practices;

  • if we reasonably believe that you have breached these T&Cs;

  • if any data or information you provide us with in relation to the promotion is incorrect, false, fraudulent or misleading; or

  • if we determine that your participation in the Hub would have an adverse effect on our reputation, brand, goodwill or financial position were you to continue participating in the Hub; or

  • if any logo, branding you provide us with infringes or we determine could reasonably infringe on a third party’s rights (including intellectual property rights).

Upon removal from the Hub, if your business is listed on the Jobs that Matter website, it will be removed from this listing and you shall no longer be able to benefit from the Hub. Tech Zero and Octopus Energy shall not be liable for any losses resulting from removal or disqualification.

Data Protection and Information Accuracy

Tech Zero’s privacy policy governs the handling of any personal or business data collected in connection with the Hub. This policy is available at https://techzero.io/terms

By applying to the Hub, you represent and warrant that all information submitted is true, current, and complete.

General Terms

Tech Zero and Octopus Energy reserve the right to amend, suspend, or terminate the Hub or these T&Cs at its sole discretion without prior notice. Notice of any changes will be provided to you, and the latest version of the T&Cs will be available on our website.

You may opt-out of the Hub at any time by emailing hello@techzero.io . Upon receipt, we will remove you from the Hub promptly.

Tech Zero and Octopus Energy may transfer, assign, subcontract, or novate any or all of its rights and obligations under these T&Cs without obtaining your prior consent.

Nothing in these T&Cs shall exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or other liabilities that cannot be lawfully limited.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tech Zero and Octopus Energy shall not be responsible for any costs, expenses, or losses incurred as a result of participating in the Hub. We are not liable for any losses arising from events beyond our control, or for any indirect, consequential, economic, or financial losses. If Tech Zero and Octopus Energy are found liable for any direct losses you incur, our liability will be capped at £1000 per calendar year.

These T&Cs are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes arising in connection with these terms or the Hub will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
